Midwife Visit: 36-Week Update

I went to see my midwife yesterday for my first of several weekly appointments. She said that I am progressing very nicely, talked me through what will happen during the early stages of labor, and indicated that the baby has begun to drop but is facing outward rather than towards my spine. I have to do this funny little wiggle (even more funny when my aged midwife was demonstrating) after dinner for the next week to get the baby to turn around. I'm happy to demonstrate for those who may need a visual!

Keep your fingers crossed that this baby continues to bake for a little while longer because I have way to much to do at work!

At the Lake

We had a wonderful weekend at the lake. One of the highlights was getting Sebastian in the row boat. He is generally afraid of the water (Michael learned this the hard way after Sebastian sunk to the bottom of the lake when they tried to swim together). He was pretty happy in the boat though and decided to show me by giving me lots of kisses - yuck!

The Happiest Baby on the Block

Michael and I took a class called the Happiest Baby on the Block last night. If the techniques we learned to sooth a fussy baby actually work, this will be the best $30 we ever spent! If not, at least we got a "soothing sounds" CD out of it. We will let you know how it goes, especially the swaddling.

Getting Ready For Baby

Michael is actually quite handy, but he is still seven years old at heart. Thought you would all enjoy this picture of him trying to assemble our new Radio Flyer wagon. Who do you think will play with the wagon more, the baby or Michael?

The Nursery

After deciding that we didn't want to paint the walls, we stuck with the sage green and created a nursery safari theme around the color. A little free-hand paint job by Shana and much hand-me-down furniture turned our ordinary office into a pretty cool nursery!
