Who would have thought that we would have our most American Halloween in six years abroad in Dubai? We really had a wonderful Halloween filled with three days of celebration, starting with the annual Dubai American Academy Halloween parade.

| Teddy dressed as a ninja! |
The next day, we went to a friend's house for a kid's Halloween party geared toward Ripley's age group. We didn't take any pictures (although I hope we have some from friends) but Ripley dressed as a hockey player and Teddy was, again, a ninja.
On Halloween night, we took Ripley around our apartment building to get a taste for trick-or-treating. He loved it and was especially thrilled by the chocolate!
 |
| We got Ripley into his crocodile/dinosaur/lizard costume but he insisted on picking out his t-shirt (which didn't match!) and carrying as many toys as he could handle. I guess we have to pick our battles with this one! |

| In the hallway and ready to knock on the first door. What a cute little smile! |
 |
| Somebody could really get into this Halloween thing! |
Later that evening, we were invited by a family who lives in a big expat neighborhood over for dinner and trick-or-treating with a big group of Dubai American Academy families.
 |
| Teddy loved hanging out with the other kids and putting his hands into the "mystery jars" to feel witch brains and maggots. This picture was snapped before he really realized what was going on. |
 |
| Gross! |

| Love this picture of neighbor, David, who dressed up as a Queen Bee! |
