Kampala, Uganda

It's been another wonderful few days working with students, but this time at Cambridge International School Kampala.

I also had the honor of visiting one of the African Dream Schools.  Here are a few pictures of my visit.

Driving through the rain.

The outside of the school.

The school grounds.
39 students are boarders.  This is the girl bunk.
The kindergarten classroom.
With the Head Mistress.
The Elementary School classrooms.

Another view of the school as we were driving away.  The chalk board has the student attendance.
The road the school is on.
Along the railroad tracks.
My dinner - beef stew and smashed bananas.
Local beer!

Nairobi, Kenya

I am so honored to be invited to Kenya and Uganda this week to work with students at the GEMS Cambridge International School campuses in Nairobi and Kampala.  Here are a few pictures of my travels, but I don't take pictures of students...so it will look like I just vacationed but I promise that I didn't.

My hotel room (bottom right) at the Karen Residences.
I worked with students at GEMS Cambridge International School Nairobi.
During lunch one day, I ran over to the baby elephant sanctuary and I ran into these adorable warthogs.  Pumba!
I was so fortunate to visit this baby elephant sanctuary.

My favorite sign!
A scene from the road in Nairobi.
At the recycled glass factory.
The funky grounds of the glass factory.

We headed across the suspension bridge from the glass factory to Nairobi Wildlife Preserve.
Yes, we walked through the game park.  I was terrified but all we saw were these cute animals.  No lions!
The National Park sign.
See, I was there!

Marbella, Spain

As part of the Les Roches and Glion tour, we also got to travel to Marbella, Spain.
The trip started off with (many) drinks with all of the representatives from the schools.
We took a master class in how to cut Jamon Iberico.
Um, yes.  I did notice the place of the ham in this picture.  (cough, cough)
At dinner we were entertained by a flamenco dancer and a Spanish guitar.
I tried to walk every morning and I was treated to this beautiful sunrise.
We also got to tour Marbella...on the day of the Royal Wedding.  Of course, we were going to watch!
Check out the beautiful streets of Marbella.
And the beautiful churches.
The church from the outside.
A little fun on the bus!
And at dinner!
Saying goodbye to all of the wonderful counselors.
