Christmas 2017: Munich, Germany Part 3

We had a little time in the morning before our train to Austria, so we checked out a beautiful church and had some Gluhwein!

Christmas 2017: Munich, Germany Part 2

We started the day at the Christmas Market, where else? On the way we stumbled upon this strange memorial to Michael Jackson. Of course, we had to take a photo!

We then walked to the Rathaus-Glockenspiel to see the clock move and tell two stories about Bavaria.

We then walked to the Munich Residenz, the royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria.

We loved this grotto made with shells. I think Teddy has a mission for his shell collection now!

Ripley was thrilled to use the free stroller which kept him contained and he actually enjoyed the audio tour, especially keying in the numbers.

We then walked to lunch at the world famous Hofbrauhaus!

Teddy loved the name of the kids menu, Wunder Tute.

The pretzel lady was thrilled to have her picture taken!

And Teddy was thrilled to eat the pretzel!

Ripley loved that we sat behind the band. He loves music!

We then walked to the Deutsches Museum, which looks at daily life in Germany.

Of course, the boys loved seeing who is the strongest at pulling sails up!

On the way back to our hotel we stopped at the world famous Chocolatier Beluga for the best hot chocolate in the world. Teddy was impressed!

Christmas 2017: Munich, Germany Part 1

We arrived in Munich in the afternoon just as the sun was going down. This left us just enough time to visit the Christmas market before heading to dinner with friends from Dubai.

Teddy discovered Kinder Punsch, which is warm cider or fruit juice. He is in love!

We then walked to the famous Paulaner Haus for dinner with friends from Dubai.

Ripley fell asleep but we had a great time sampling the local delicacies.

Christmas 2017: Nuremberg, Germany

We took a train from Prague to Neuremberg on Monday morning and arrived at our hotel to two Chocolate Santas for the boys. They were thrilled!

We then took a walk into the Old City to find the famous Christmas market!

Ripley was so excited to ride the wooden Ferris wheel at the children's market.

He went on all by himself and had a great time!

We then found a cool restaurant over the river that served wonderful sausage and potatoes. When in Rome, right?

The was the name of the restaurant!

We then walked home through the market for dessert. We loved this marshmallow covered in chocolate with a waffle at the bottom.

The Christmas market at night.

The next morning, we went to the train museum. Can you see Michael?

Ripley absolutely loved the trains!

He even got to dress up as a ticket taker and take our tickets. The caption of this one, "No ticket!"

He also loved being the conductor!

The boys even got to play at the Play Mobile train village. Play Mobile's headquarters are near Nuremberg.

The boys also loved riding on the real train!

And they loved taking pictures of the old time train passengers!

We then walked around the city to the castle.

The castle.

We even went to St. Sebaldus, which was heavily bombed in 1945. There was a choir practicing for the upcoming Christmas Mass.

We then went to another Christmas market and did a lot of eating. This is rices potato that is fried and served with applesauce.

And who doesn't love corn on a stick! Ripley ate both!

And I fell in love with the beautiful gingerbread cookies.

We then trained into Munich. More to come soon!
