Michael came with me to New Orleans for my IACAC conference. He had never been to New Orleans before so it was a fun little getaway.
Our first taste of Burbon Street. |
Enjoying lunch on one of the many balconies.
Along the Mississippi River.
Celebrating our (belated) anniversary at Compere Lapin.
The next morning at the St. Louis Cathedral.
We took a walking tour of the French Quarter and just loved the iron work.
Of course, we had to go to the cemetery. |
The New Orleans Musicians Tomb where any NoLa musician can be buried.
Maybe this is where the Voodoo Queen, Mary Laveau, is buried?
A view of the three benevolent society tombs.
This will be Nick Cage's final resting place some day. So strange!
A relative of the Voodoo Queen!
Of course, we then headed back to Bourbon Street to meet up with friends at the famous Pat O'Briens.
We ended up at a bar where the bartender was very eager to make us her favorite drinks. Fancy a "shark attack" anyone?
How about a "horny gater?"
And our bartender Trina.
The next day Michael rode with me to my conference at Tulane. Here he is on the street car!
After my conference, we went for a treat at Cafe du Monde. Beignets for everyone!
The closing event for my conference was at Mardi Gras World. How cool are these floats?
Our final morning, we went to Brennan's before heading to the airport. I had a baked apple for breakfast. |
