Halloween 2017

We had such a fun Halloween this year!  It seems like Dubai is really embracing the idea of Halloween and trick-or-treating.  

We bought pumpkins from Teddy's elementary school sale.  Ripley wanted a T-Rex and Teddy wanted a scary face.

Ripley is off from school for the week but he was excited about going trick-or-treating in our building.

Teddy and his friends from school went trick-or-treating in a local neighborhood.  About half of the houses were giving out candy and there were even a few haunted houses.  Teddy got a ton of candy and declared this Halloween to be his best yet!

Preschool Halloween Party

Today we threw a Halloween party for the Dubai American Academy teaching family preschool kids.  It was a fun afternoon filled with way too much sugar, trick-or-treating, crafts, and costumes.  

Ripley dressed as a hockey player, Teddy was present but couldn't decide on a costume, Shana dressed as a scary witch and Michael dressed as a Native American (until his costume got too hot and he took it off).  

Pavlovsky Hockey School

A huge thank you to the former NHL players from Pavlovsky Hockey School for taking such good care of the Dubai Sandstorms for the past month.  These coaches are amazing and we are thankful to have them in Dubai to work with our team.

Super Hero Day

Ripley had a big day at school today!  Not only was it the last school day before half-term break, but it was Super Hero Day, Halloween Party Day, and the day the kids got a special performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  

My little Batman enjoyed dressing up.  Just because you don't have a proper mask doesn't mean you can't wear Mommy's silly glasses to school!

Halloween at Legoland

Yes, we went to Legoland again.  Thank you to an awesome sale on season passes, we will be going to Dubai Parks and Resorts a lot this year.  Of course, we just had to celebrate Halloween and one of our favorite places in the city!

The boys were thrilled to go trick-or-treating at the Park.  They had to both get on stage, do a silly dance, and then knock for candy.  They will do anything for candy!

Legoland

We seem to have a thing for amusement parks these days.  Today, Teddy and Ripley, and their good friend, Sophia, and I went to Legoland Dubai for the very first time.  

How amazing is this lego Burj Al Arab?

We absolutely loved the Lego Dubai and Lego Middle East.  A super cool view of the entire city in lego miniature.

Ice Warrior Challenge

I don't know what possessed me but I decided to do the Ice Warrior Challenge with my friend, Eu.  It was an obstacle course race at Ski Dubai.  We didn't know the length of the course or the obstacles until we started racing.  All I can tell you is that it was super cold and it kicked our butts!

At the end of the race and we still look happy.
