Istanbul: Day 4

What an awesome last day in Istanbul! We started at the palace (pictures coming soon) and worked our way over to the world famous Pudding Shop.

We then wandered the streets and found another wonderful cistern beneath the city.

This one was much better lit!

We then wandered into a carpet shop and left with a little souvenir! Just one!

Our last stop was the Blue Mosque which was packed and under construction, but photos coming soon!

UPDATE: Here are our photos!

Istanbul: Day 3

Today we decided to leave the old part of the city to visit the newer party of the city on the European and Asian continents. We took a ferry boat down the river and walked around on both sides of the river. Teddy thought it was awesome that we went from Europe to Asia in 15 minutes.

We didn't take too many pictures because other people were taking so many (in bold!) selfies on the boat that we just wanted to enjoy.

Here is our one and only selfie:

And my favorite picture of the boys sitting on the Asian side of the Bosporus looking out over the European side of the city.

Of course, I had a loaded baked potato and I needed a photo to show my Mom.

More photos to come as soon as we have downloaded our camera!

UPDATE: Here are our camera photos.

Istanbul: Day 2

So much walking! We literally saw all of Old Town today. What an amazing day!

We started at Hagia Sophia, a one thousand year old cathedral that was turned into beautiful mosque about five hundred years ago. It is no longer a religious site and we could still see evidence of its Christian roots.

I have lots of photos on my camera which I will have to add to the blog when we return to Dubai.

Update: Now that I have my photos!  Here are some more pictures of Aya Sophia.

We also saw the courtyard of the palace which we will return to at the end of our visit. We walked to the Spice Market and the Old Bazaar. Our last tourist spot was the Suleimanaye Mosque.

UPDATE: Here are our photos!

We also got to watch the sunset from a rooftop over the Blue Mosque.

More wonderful photos to come!
