This is what Teddy did while Michael was in the shower this morning!

Adventure Walk

On Sunday, we decided to walk over the mountain from Beitou to Shiling (where we live). The distance between the two town's isn't great, but there is a big mountain in the way! We started in Beitou at the famous hot springs, called Hell Valley.


Behind us is the bubbling hot springs.  It smelled like sulfur!

Then we climbed the mountain between the two towns.  At the very top of the mountain was this big boulder which Michael wanted to climb too.

We had a wonderful adventure that lasted about 5.5 hours round-trip. Teddy did a great time climbing the mountain with Daddy's help...and Mommy carried him down the mountain. We had a lot of fun and might actually do it another time soon!

Dear Shana and Michael,

For the first few weeks of KA our focus has been on establishing rules and routines as well as functioning independently in the classroom setting. Teddy has demonstrated strong group skills; he always contributes enthusiastically to discussions, he follows classroom expectations and takes care of his own belongings. As a class we are working on not talking over others and taking turns during morning meeting.

Teddy is a joy to have in our super star class; he is always polite, courteous and thinks of others welfare. I look forward to talking more with you about Teddy’s learning during the portfolio conference late October.
