We wanted to spend this Ramadan giving back to the community of Dubai so we decided to help fill one of the Ramadan Giving Fridges in our neighborhood. This fridge is provided by someone and filled by people like us for local workers to help themselves during the day. This has been such a wonderful experience for our family and we are eager to fill the fridge again soon.
We live abroad! Check back regularly to see how we are surviving a new culture and where we are going to travel next.

Ramadan Surprise
We found this on our doorstep tonight. It's from a kind neighbor filled with things to be thankful for this Ramadan (including a wish that Trump does not become president).
Ramadan
It's illegal in the city of Dubai to eat or drink in public if you are over the age of twelve during Ramadan. We had to sit behind barricades at the mall today to have lunch and this was the warning label that came with our food.

Neighborly love
We are overwhelmed by the kindness of our neighbors who brought us a basket of Arabic food to break our fast. We live in a country filled with wonderfully spiritual people. We are truly humbled tonight.

Iftar at the Ritz
To say goodbye to everyone at the end of the year, our school hosted a traditional Iftar meal (the evening meal at sunset to break the Ramadan fast) at the Ritz Carlton. It was such a fun night filled with lots of "see you laters" and some truly wild food.
