Ripley's First Hockey Tournament

Today was the first hockey tournament for Ripley's Tykes team. They divided the team into quarters and Ripley played on the six man Team One. They were very well named because they ended up winning first place! Ripley had a goal and a great time!

Both Boys on the Ice

For the past two weeks, Teddy has been attending a hockey skills camp.  One of the coaches has been kind enough to take Ripley out on the ice to teach him to skate.  He even got both boys out on the ice, in full hockey gear, to play together.  This is the first time both boys have been on the ice together in hockey gear!

And sometimes you sleep with your trophy...

I love that Teddy fell asleep with his hockey trophy.

End of the Season Hockey Party

Although hockey season seems to keep going and going, the Dubai Sandstorms had their office end of season party this past weekend at Flip Out Trampoline Park.  Every end of season event is difficult because we have to say goodbye to so many friends who are moving away from Dubai or to the next division.  The kids had a great time bouncing around together!

Al Ain Hockey Tournament

It was another awesome hockey tournament weekend in the UAE.  Teddy's team, The Dubai Sandstorms, got to take on teams from Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia.  Teddy's team won the gold for his division!

NHL Player: Reggie Leach

It's always fun when celebrities vacation in Dubai and go out of their way to say hello!  The Dubai Sandstorms were lucky to get a surprise visit from former NHL player and Stanley Cup winner Reggie Leach.  Teddy even got to wear his Stanley Cup ring!

Pavlovsky Hockey School

A huge thank you to the former NHL players from Pavlovsky Hockey School for taking such good care of the Dubai Sandstorms for the past month.  These coaches are amazing and we are thankful to have them in Dubai to work with our team.

Hockey Teddy

One of my IB Art students used Teddy as a model for her final project titled, Religiously. She was looking for children who religiously do something. Guess what Teddy's something is?

Final Hockey Tournament, 2016

The tournament was held at the Chuck E. Cheese at a local mall.  The rink was small sized but it was great for these kids to feel like they were really in the game no matter where the puck traveled.

So proud of this kid who got MVP for his team.

Abu Dhabi Hockey Tournament

So proud of Teddy who was awarded MVP of his third game today after scoring three goals! The kids play at least one more game tomorrow!

Hockey Tournament

We are attending the Qatar Raiders Cup in Doha, Qatar. Teddy is playing with the Dubai Sandstorms B team. Unfortunately, his team is overmatched and it's been a blow out both games. We have two more games with this team, but at least we will be able to work on a few skills and playing like a team.

Taking this little dude to his first international hockey tourney!

Big Night on the Ice!

Two firsts - Teddy in goal and Ripley on the ice in skates!

Our favorite hockey player!

Teddy Russell. #42.

Hockey is a family affair...

Teddy had hockey practice this morning so Ripley went along to "play" too.  Ripley is obsessed with hockey and he needed a jersey, helmet, and hockey stick just like his big brother.  Ripley's favorite word?  HOCKEY!

First time on the ice!

Our favorite hockey player!

#42, Michael Russell, takes the ice!
