Dubrovnik, Croatia

We are big Game of Thrones fans and I was so excited to visit so many of the filming locations. We started by having dinner at the base of the Shame Stairs from the TV show. We had to stop the boys from shouting shame at people who walked by. They thought it was very funny and a few people were also into it.

One of my favorite scenes from GoT is when everyone is shouting at Circe Lanister from the top of the stairs. I (and literally everyone else we ran into) was recreating the scene. Here is our attempt.

We saw a big crowd gathered around a little statue and I asked what was going on. They said that if you can balance on the little statue that it will bring you luck. We all tried, but Ripley did the best job of balancing,

The next morning we walked the one mile of castle walls in about an hour and a half.

After walking the walls, we were so hot and we decided to go to one of the many alley way cafes for a cold drink.

Yes, Ripley has something wrong with his eye. He got a scratch in Dubai and the area around his eye was so sensitive that it turned into something much worse. We visited the ER in Mostar and they told us how to take care of it. As I write this, it is looking so much better!

We wanted a little break from the cit so we went to one of the places near our apartment to swim.

Ripley did jump in the water but he also enjoyed doing this:

After swimming, we wandered back into the city and stopped at the fort on the hill for this spectacular view of the city:

I also loved this picture of Teddy.

Here is one of the wonderful little side streets that are all over the city. What a hike!

As we were walking home through the city, we saw a couple having their wedding photos taken. Ripley was unimpressed that they were taking their photos right in the middle of where he wanted to play with the pigeons.

And finally a sort of nice photo of the boys walking home. Sometimes they can be very sweet with one another.
