Australia - The Arrival!

We were so excited to be able to visit our wonderful friends in Australia over winter break. We took an overnight flight to Sydney from Hong Kong and arrived a little tired and cranky. Luckily, we were greated by our good friends Irene Rainey and Jeannie Knight, and they quickly put a spring in our step!  Irene and her husband, Jim, took us on an amazing tour of the coast.

We got to see several beaches including the world famous Bondi Beach.  Teddy loved running in the sand, eating an ice cream cone, and getting his feet wet.

Next, we traveled down to the harbor and I was so excited to have my first Australian beer of the trip - a Tooheys New, as recommended by TAS friend Nancy Gorneau.  

The Rainey's then thought we needed to end our tour with the best meat pies in town at Harry's Cafe de Wheels.  I had the curry chicken topped with mushy peas and cheese sauce.  Oh yes!
