Wanaka

We had a lazy day by Lake Wanaka today. We started the morning at the Wanaka Lavender Farm.

There was field after field of beautiful lavender.

The boys loved playing the life sized games. This one was tick tack toe!

Shana loved pretending to drive the purple tractor.

Everyone loved watching the llamas learn to appreciate the new little lamb. Llamas are so strange!

We then went to Puzzling World.

This little museum is dedicated to all things "puzzling." Like a tops you turvey room which absolutely tested Shana's motion sickness skills.

And a leaning tower of Wanaka!

We even had a chance to find out way out of a very complicated maze.

But our favorite part was taking a swim in freezing Lake Wanaka. Do you see the snowy peaks in the distance?

It's Christmas Eve here in Wanaka and it isn't easy to be away from family during this time of the year. We recounted our past nine Christmases spent in Bali, Australia, Cambodia, South Korea, United States, Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, Austria and New Zealand. Every year we hear the song "White Christmas" and the lyric "I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams" always applies. We are always far away at Christmas but our hearts are always with our family and friends. We love you all! Sweet dreams and may Santa be very good to you tomorrow morning.
